The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.

This was announced on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in an official statement issued on behalf of the Federal government on Monday.

The minister congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion, encouraging them to continue reflecting the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).

Tunji-Ojo also urged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity across the nation.

He further reassured citizens that the ongoing people-centered reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are aimed at putting Nigeria back on the path to progress.

Wishing the Muslim community a joyful and peaceful Eid celebration, the minister called on all Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts to restore the country's greatness.
