The Nigeria Police Force has announced the neutralisation of three armed bandits and the recovery of 10 AK‑47 rifles during a series of intelligence‑led operations aimed at tackling violent crimes across the country.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the operations were carried out in July 2025 by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department, Intelligence Response Team (FID‑IRT) in coordinated raids across Taraba, Plateau, Adamawa, Nasarawa, and Niger States.
The rifles recovered have been linked to crimes such as kidnappings, armed robberies, gunrunning, and cattle rustling in the affected states.
Adejobi noted that follow‑up operations are underway to track and arrest other fleeing members of the criminal syndicates believed to be responsible for deadly attacks on communities.
The Inspector‑General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to sustaining intelligence‑driven strategies to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace and security nationwide.
He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and actionable intelligence.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in its constitutional duty to protect lives and property across Nigeria,” the statement added.
