The governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, has called on public servants to adopt a culture of accountability and enhance their productivity as he inaugurates the newly finished Local Government Service Commission Complex in Calabar.
At the inauguration ceremony, Otu emphasised his administration's commitment to seeing through all inherited projects without abandonment.
He also noted his commitment to strengthening the welfare of workers while restoring integrity to the public service.
He said, “We will continue to play our part as a responsible government. But we also expect you, the workforce, to rise to the occasion. Let our efforts motivate you to be more committed and productive.
“We are working toward ensuring that gratuities are paid within one week of retirement, but the persistent issue of ghost workers continues to hinder our progress.”
