Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested suspected bandits and recovered rustled livestock in Kaduna State.

The operations, conducted across different locations in Kaduna State, were aimed at disrupting terrorist and bandit activities, protecting communities and denying criminals freedom of action.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Media Information Officer

Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Aliyu Danja, on Monday.

It was gathered that troops engaged fleeing criminals in a firefight, neutralising two suspected bandits and recovering weapons, ammunition and other items.

The military noted that the operation also led to the recovery of the stolen livestock.

However, one civilian was reportedly killed during the incident.

In a separate operation, troops on night patrol intercepted two suspected bandits.

During a search, troops discovered digital materials believed to link the suspects to terrorist and bandit activities.

The suspects are currently in custody assisting with further investigations.

Also on June 21, troops conducting a fighting patrol encountered armed criminals who fled into nearby bushes.

The troops sustained the pursuit and arrested two suspected bandit scouts.

Items recovered from the suspects included motorcycles and communication devices containing information believed to be connected to criminal operations.

Preliminary investigations indicated possible involvement of the suspects in bandit activities.

Meanwhile, troops also responded to a civil disturbance at Mararraba community in Kaduna State following the mob killing of a woman accused of child trafficking.

The violent crowd reportedly attempted to attack public infrastructure and block a major highway.

The Theatre Commander of Operation FANSAN YAMMA commended the troops for their vigilance, discipline and professionalism, describing the achievements as a reflection of the force’s determination to dismantle criminal networks operating across the North-West.

He assured residents that intelligence-led and offensive operations would continue to be sustained to enhance security and protect law-abiding citizens in the region.
