I am sad over killing of Soldiers in Niger, Says Buhari

Former President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the death of several soldiers killed in an ambush and a subsequent helicopter crash in Niger State.

“I am saddened by the helicopter accident, following the tragic ambush in which we have lost our brave army personnel,” Buhari said on Saturday in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu.

“My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope those injured recover at the earliest.”

He also expressed his “heartfelt condolences” to President Bola Tinubu, the Armed Forces of the Federation and the families of the deceased.

“With the soldier-discipline in our troops, it is a matter of time before they overcome,” the former president added.

Nigerians have stormed X [Formerly Twitter to lambast the former president for sending his condolences to the family members of the deceased Nigerian soldiers that were killed.

Tweeps gathered by THEWATCH AFRICA shows that Nigerians are not still happy with the past administration of former president Buhari.

A X user wrote, Osunfirstson @Osunfirstson How many were killed during your time as president, no one asked you to write episode. This is where you and APC crooks have brought us. Posterity will catch up with you soon.

Another X user known as Chuka @elohimsbaby also said, You have been mourning and condoling for 8 years plus, we are tired of these worthless statements. You did nothing to stop this when you had the opportunity. Rest abeg

kentolah @OkodiKenneth Rubbish let him keep his mourning to himself.what did he do for 8 years to stop this bandits rampaging and wasting our people ? The same way he kept mourning each time our people and soldiers were killed when he was in power.let him keep his mourning to himself am not interested!
