Social media was abuzz after Nigerian singer and record producer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, lambasted on the Osun state commissioner of police CP Muhammed Umar Abba.

The Afrobeat star, advised Umar Abba to respect the rule of law, adding that he, Abba is not madder or crazier than them.

First News was unable to determine the motive behind Davido's statement.

In a post shared on Davido's Facebook page, on Monday, he wrote, Mr commissioner respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crazier than us !! Make we all kuku mad !! MEN MOUNT WALAI TO KRF!!! I will post u everyday everywhere Mr man !!! Try me f*cker."

Davido's post, however, stirred mixed reactions online, with fans and critics offering their opinions. Some supported the Afrobeats star, agreeing that the CP should be dragged, while others saw it as unnecessary dragging.

A Facebook user identified as, Allinok Mey wrote , "This man was one time acting chairman of Efcc…he was known as a peaceful man who has zero tolerance for bribery and corruption.

"During the period he acted, he shows competent and professionalism in the cause of discharging his duties… Adeleke is a big name that everyone will want to identify with…for him to trigger #Davido to call him on social media only means his not dancing to the adelekes tune , probably being a hard nut to crack."

Another user, Victoria IJeso wrote, "Na who get money dey warn police commissioner.. I don't care what the problem is ooo
OBO is right."

One user, wrote, "The Endsars protest will be a childs play if Tinubu no call this police people to order. Nigerians are hungry & angry."

Despite the backlash, some fans have asked Davido to calm the situation by telling his uncle, the governor of Osun state to also obey the law.

Another user, wrote, "Tell your uncle to calm down on this matter and allow the same rule of law prevail, Peace peace peace."

Glossy Chicago, wrote," Don't forget that police is ur friend, if u do the right thing he will not come for u, stop posting him online, that's an offence, what ever is the issue can be solved offline.

Amb Peacelover Noah Unogwu, wrote, "I don't know what this man has done but Davido is right and the man is wrong."
