Popular Nigerian Fuji singer, Wasiu Ayinde, also known as Kwam1 De, has bragged in a phone call with president Tinubu, stating that he can't suffer in Nigeria as long as he, Tinubu remains president.
In a leaked video seen by Thewatch Africa, Wasiu said, "I can't suffer in Nigeria as long as you Tinubu is president and I (Ayinde) remains omo Asiwaju."
The video which has since gone viral on Saturday, shows Wasiu boasting during the phone call with Tinubu, who had called to commiserate with him over the death of his mother.
Alhaja Halima Anifowoshe, the mother of Ayinde, was earlier reported to have passed away.
The announcement of her passing had been communicated to the public via K1’s official media platform in the early hours of Saturday.
The announcement was accompanied by a heartfelt photograph depicting K1 in a tender moment with his late mother.
Meanwhile, the death of his mother is coming few days after the Fuji musician also lost one of his wives, Alhaja Hafsat Anifowoshe.
In the phone call, Ayinde said, “She went to meet her sister in heaven; they will meet themselves there and be holding meetings."
President Tinubu, offering words of comfort, in Yoruba said: “You will live long; God will not let you suffer.”
Responding, Wasiu said, “Since you are there, how can I suffer? You are my father, the president of a country. I cannot suffer, not in this Nigeria that you control.”
President Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, continues to face scrutiny over the economic challenges affecting millions of Nigerians, including inflation and subsidy removal, which have strained household incomes.
